Masha Hi there,
I'm reseaching this painting, and could really use some suggestions about its location from people more knowledgable about castles than myself.
The painting is dated 1884, and was framed in North Carolina, USA around that time. The landscape and structure look northern European to me, but all my ideas thus far have turned up blanks.
Any suggestions would be great!

It does not ring a bill right away - by the looks of it, it could be a house in Scotland or Scandinavia. But it also could be an old grand hotel
